Go for a swim

A cracking breath snags on crag

Of throat. Forever exhaling I pour

My soul out my mouth into

Yours. My shore is bare my tide

Is out. The wind from the window

Blows the waves and they loop

Inward, curling to the sea floor.

We dove down and met the swirl, we

Caught ourselves and reeled

Up, up, and when we broke the seal of

Water the light blinded us and

We gasped sweet salt and air. Edging

Slowly we wed foot to land. A quiver,

A ray sent rattling up my leg

And away.

I float belly warm chest warm

Clouds still in their highway, sails fluttering

Slack. The sky is, open mouth open in

Silent awe. The sea lulls me you rock me til

My body meets the slope of silk sand.
