God?

Glorious God, are you in the sky or in the mind?

Do you rest far above beyond the cloud

Invisible to us humans down here?

Or are you buried keep within the folds

Of our sense-stimulated brain minds?

Do you look and judge

Against a predetermined code of actions?

Or are you the ebb and flow of reason,

Of good and evil tendency that exists within us all?

Are you other worldly, far beyond our earthly sins?

Or are you the humanity that links all of us together?

Are you so far away that we sometimes feel detached

Or too close to be separated from our selves?

With careful refinement will you emerge F

rom under the worldly dust which has

Accumulated over our minds and hearts?

The mind, for its reason,

The heart, for its feeling,

Have been both subdued.

If we sit, eyes closed,

Can we coax You out from the wreckage?

Can You appear to us, shining with human goldness?

I know You are not far.
