Bokonon's Calypsos

I want my calypsos to be like Bokonon's.

I want my mouth to say provocative words like Allen Ginsberg's. I want people to cry for me like I cry for Sylvia Plath.

Who were these men who wrote the Bible?

In this age, in our generation,

Will anyone have the mind capacity, the attention,

To think any real thoughts and convey any real ideas?

Call it naturalism, call it realism, maybe I am grim.

I blame society for my inability

To create calypsos
